How do I reprogram myself?
These are very in depth questions you have asked. I will
answer according to my personal understandings.
Working on the assumption that your use of the word 'formless',
is the same force I call 'Universal Consciousness' or God, is what
Cayce also calls the 'fourth dimension' or formless, then what
you ask about 'programming your subconscious' or hypnosis, is
a too complicated way to walk our path in life. It would require our personal constant
and persistent attention, as Creation is always going on second by
second. As humans we are simply not that consistent or persistent.
So where does this leave us? OK, lets set
some more perimeters.
- Universal Consciousness, God, Universal Mind, Father
(Loving parent that can only give Good and Perfect gifts), All Knowing.
- Christ Consciousness, Way, Truth, and Light. The
inner Teacher, the inner Self, The Bridge
- Human Consciousness, self centred, self willed,
LittleMind.
- When we look at the world from without, the above consciousness's are
divided into three.
- When we look at the world from within, the above consciousness's are
One.
Now with the above understandings, your question becomes one of
'resistance or non-resistance'! (I can hear you groaning). I will try to explain.
True mastery, is living the instruction of The inner Teacher, the
inner Self, and NOT seeking the opinions of the world. The mere making over
(hypnosis) of one's human consciousness according to the thoughts
evolved by another's human consciousness, is to impose a false condition
upon that individual. It bypasses the inner Self. It
imposes a condition such that the instructions received from without must be taken
into the LittleMind (mentality) and assimilated, analysed, checked with the deepest facts
of one's own inner nature, in order to determine if it be true to the inner
Self. This method is slow and retarding to one's progress!. [Phew! and it's
plain hard work!]
It is better we consult the inner Self FIRST and gain our outer
knowledge thus at first hand. This method is swift and freeing to one's progress!.
This teaches us that the way of life is from within out. For Example:
When we speak or act in harmony with what we Innermost feel (inner Self), we
let ourselves out into complete harmony with the true direction of
life. Looking at it the other way around. When we speak or
act in a way which does not meet with the sanction of one's Innermost
feelings, we feel we have limited ourselves or bounded ourselves. [I am
NOT speaking emotional feelings here, as I am sure you understand].
This, then, becomes the philosophy of non-resistance, as emphasised
by Christ's teachings. For example: When you speak or act in a manner that is
out of harmony with yourself, you create resistance, and that resistance is the influence
of the hypnotic practices. It contracts the nature of the person, and
keeps that person from expressing what they truly are. [I
am sure you have experienced this for yourself and can verify from within yourself that
what I have said is correct].
So, as you word it, to 'receive my gifts from the formless' and
'to feel the expectation of success' and 'to give gratitude to the formless for what l
have received'. is to be non-resistant to such within
yourself. Remember, non-resistance is not passive, but is a
dynamic radiation of the inner Self. We master this
through deep meditation and consultation with the inner SELF, which is the only master we
can ever find that will lead us to the goal. Start with the idea that you are that
Self which you inwardly long to be, and so devote yourself to being that Self such that
everything else if forgotten. And when you return to the sense of oneness with the
Universal Consciousness, then your desire for the above will automatically be yours,
assuming you still want them by then.
Are you interested in astrology, or astronomy, then you may find the following
information useful!..contributed by Joel Gochenour, Chico, California
MARS - AUGUST 2003 - FROM THE INTERNET
This month and next Earth is catching up with Mars, an encounter that will culminate in
the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history.
The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.
Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only
be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the last 5,000 years, but it may
be as long as 60,000 years.
The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589
miles, and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will
attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power
magnification Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.
Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August Mars will rise in the east at 10
p.m. and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m. But by the end of August when the two planets
are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30
a.m.
That's pretty convenient when it comes to seeing something that no human has seen in
recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow
progressively brighter and brighter through-out the month.
MARS - 1924 - FROM THE CAYCE READINGS
T3744-004 [Pg 3]
33. (Q) Give the description of the planet nearest the earth at the present time,
and its effect upon the people.
That planet now fast approaching the earth, under whose influence the earth's minds trend, will be for the next few years, as time is known
here, is Mars, who will be only thirty-five million miles away from the earth in 1924.
The influence will be felt as this recedes from the earth, and those of that
nature; that is, given through sojourn there, express in their lives upon the earth the
troublesome times that will arise, only being tempered with that of those who may
be, and will be, coming from those of Jupiter, Venus and
Uranus, those strong ennobling forces tempered by those of love and strength.
T2327-001 M [Pg 2]
8. From Mars we find the associations with things where conditions of war, of anger,
of wrath on the part of the individuals, groups or masses, DO bring and have had, and will
have great influences upon the activities of the entity.
T4169-001 M [Pg 1]
The afflictions come under those of Mars and Neptune. Hence the fear that will ever
be in the entity's inmost thoughts, respective to war or flood tides.
Comment:
Five years after 1924, the 16 year period, 1929
- 1945, brought great suffering from a world wide
economic
recession, followed by World War II.
Perhaps we will be able to do better after
2003. At least we should pray for better leaders and better
conditions throughout
the world !
T1598-002 M [Pg 2]
9. As has been given, however, that which has prevented and does prevent the whole of
civilization becoming a turmoil is the attempt of those who have the ideals of the Prince
of Peace at HEART! And as of old, the prayers of ten may save a city; the prayers of
twenty-five may save a nation - as the prayers and activities of ONE may! but in
union there is strength.
10. Then if that purpose would be kept, then it must ever be kept in mind that we ARE our
brother's keeper!

EDGAR CAYCE READINGS

4. KARMA AND THE SOURCE OF OUR PROBLEMS
5. HOW TO
MEET AND OVERCAME OUR PROBLEMS AND OUR NEGATIVE KARMA
6. THE
IMPORTANCE OF OUR MIND AND WHAT WE CHOOSE TO FEED IT
7. THE IMPORTANCE OF DAILY
PRAYER AND MEDITATION
1. WHAT IS LIFE?
From Reading 1567-2:
Life in all of its phases, its expressions, is a manifestation of that Force or Power we
call God, or that is called God.
Then life is continuous. For that Force, that Power which has brought the earth, the
universe, and all the influences in same into being, is a continuous thing - is a first
premise.
All glory, all honor then, is due that Creative Force that may be manifested in our
experiences as individual - through the manner in what we deal with our fellow man!
From Reading 954-1
Life is ! Each soul is an offspring of the Creative Force called God, and is
innately, and manifestedly by application, the result in the experience of how, or the
manner, it has manifested that prerogative of will.
From Reading 1362-1
For the soul is continuous. Life is, in constructive forces, or that ye call God.
From Reading 404-3:
Life in its activity is the expression of the Divine Influence in a material world.
And individuals may, though the drawing wholly, solely upon the Creative Forces within,
change their own surroundings, their own vibrations, within their bodies!
From Reading 4047-2
The purpose in life, then, is not the gratifying of appetites nor of any selfish desires,
but it is that the entity, the soul, may make the earth, where the entity finds its
consciousness, a better place in which to live.
From Reading 5749-4
God is love - hence occupies a space, place, condition, and is the Force that permeates
all activity.
From Reading 262-100
Not as Moses painted a God of wrath - not as David painted a God that would fight thine
enemies - but as the Christ, the Father of love, of mercy, of justice.
2. WHAT HAPPENS TO US AFTER DEATH?
From reading 5155-1
There is no death. Death is only overcome by Him, Who has overcome death. It is our
promise, and when ye abide in Him, sufficient to that, ye with Him as the resurrection,
may indeed overcome death in a material sense.
From Reading 5749-13
He broke the bonds of death - proclaiming in that act that there is no death when the
individual, the soul, has and does, put its trust in Him.
From Reading 2927-1
They that put their whole trust in Him have passed from death unto life. And to such,
there is no death - only the entrance through God's other door.
From Reading 900-19
Birth into the spiritual plane begins with the death in earth plane - merely the
separation of the spiritual and soul forces from the earthly connections.
From Reading 262-86
(Q) At the change called death is the entity free of a physical or material body?
(A) Free of the material body, but not free of matter - only changed in the form as
to matter - and is just as acute to the realms of consciousness, as in the physical or
material, or carnal body, or more so.
From Reading 1472-2
Death, as commonly spoken of, is only passing through God's other door. That there is
continued consciousness is evidenced ever - by the associations of influences, the
abilities of entities to project or to make those impressions upon the consciousness of
sensitives or the like.
From Reading 3744-4
What one thinks continually he becomes. After death the soul and spirit feed upon
and, in a sense, are possessed by that which was created by the mind in the earth
experience.
From Reading 3954-1
Ye pray oft for those who have passed on. This is part of thy consciousness. It is well.
For God is God of the living. Those who have passed through God's other door are oft
listening, listening for the voice of those they have loved in the earth.
3. WE BUILD OUR OWN HEAVEN OR HELL!
From Reading 262-88
Heaven is that place, that awareness, where the soul - with all its attributes, its mind,
its body - becomes aware of being in the presence of the Creative Force (God, or one with
same, That is heaven.
From Reading 1567-2
The kingdom of the Father, or the kingdom of Heaven, is within. Why? Because our mind, the
Son, is within us.
From Reading 4035-1
All ye may know of heaven or hell is within your own self.
From Reading 281-16:
Each entity's heaven or hell must, though some experience, be that which it has builded
for itself.
From Reading 262-40
From what may anyone be saved? Only from themselves! That is, their individual
hell - they dig it with their own desires!
From Reading 633-5:
If ye would not forgive, how may ye expect to be forgiven?
From Reading 531-3
Look into the hearts of those that apparently are successful in material things, and
unless such successes are founded in the spirit of justice, mercy, love and long-
suffering and brotherly kindness, they must fade and fall away. Yet if they are
builded in those things that are the fruits of the spirit, they will grow and blossom as
the Rose of Sharon.
From Reading 440-20
Nothing in heaven, or hell or earth may separate thee from the knowledge and the use of
the I AM presence within, save selfishness, or self !
From Reading 262-87
Heaven? Where? Within the hearts, the minds, the place where Truth is made
manifest ! Wherever Truth is made manifest, It gives place to that which is heaven, for
those that seek and love truth - but a mighty hell for those that seek gratification of
their own selves. !
From Reading 1436-1
The individual entity grows to a haven of peace and harmony and understanding - or ye grow
to heaven, rather than going to heaven. Ye grow in grace, in knowledge, in understanding.
From Reading 262-60
Desire builds - and is that which is the basis of evolution, and of life, and of truth. It
also takes hold on hell and paves the way for many that find themselves oft therein, in
spirit, in body, in mind.
From Reading 5250-1
Those who have come to the attitude of seeking physical gratification find that this is
plain hell itself.
From Reading 1703-3
There is no name given under heaven whereby men may be saved, but He, the
begotten of the Father - even Jesus the Christ !
From Reading 954-5
He hath given "I am thine - I stand at the door and knock. Whosoever will, open
thy heart within - I will abide, I will come in and abide, and as I and the Father are
One, so may ye and I be One - that the Father may be glorified in thee, in the manner in
which ye deal with thy fellow man"
.
4. KARMA AND THE SOURCE OF OUR
PROBLEMS
From Reading 1056-2:
Each soul pays for his own shortcomings, not someone else's.
From Reading 2160-1
Ye are what ye are because of what ye have been. So is everyone else!
From Reading 2074-1
Each individual constantly meets self. There are no coincidences, no accidents
that arise in the meeting of people and individuals.
From Reading 1436-3
Not a karmic debt between, but a karmic debt of self, that may be worked out between the
associations that exist in the present! And this is true for every soul.
From Reading 5075-1:
What ye sow, ye reap, unless ye have passed from the carnal or karmic law to the law of
grace.
From Reading 2800-2
Then as the entity sets itself to do or to accomplish that which is of a creative
influence or force, it comes under the interpretation of the law between karma and grace.
No longer is the entity then under the law of cause and effect, but rather in grace
it may go on to the higher calling set in Him.
From Reading 275-23:
As has been given as to what karmic influence is, and what to do about same - lose self in
the consciousness of the indwelling of the Creative Force - through the Son of Man!
This is the escape, and what to be done about it! Lose self - make His will one with
thy will, or thy will be lost in His will - being a channel through which He may manifest
in the associations of self with the sons and daughter of men.
5. HOW TO
MEET AND OVERCOME OUR PROBLEMS AND OUR
NEGATIVE KARMA
From Reading 364-24:
All the souls were made in the beginning. We have entered again and again for the
experience of the soul and to become One with the Creative Forces.
From Reading 1391-1
Know, O ye peoples, the Lord thy God is One! And ye must be one - one with Him - if
ye would be, as ye indeed are, corpuscles in the life flow of thy Redeemer.
From Reading 2030-1
Know that it is not all just to live - not all just to be good, but good for something,
that ye may fulfill that purpose for which ye have entered this experience And that
purpose is that you might know yourself to be yourself, and one with the Creative Forces,
or God.
From Reading 1567-2
These are the criterions for every individual's experience - sincerity of purpose, of
desire - putting the whole law into effect in the activities - which is to love the Lord
thy God with all thy heart, thy mind, thy body, and thy neighbor as thyself. This
the whole law. All the other things given or written are only the interpreting of same.
From Reading 601-11
Do what thou knowest to do to be aright! Then leave it alone! God giveth the increase! Thy
worry, thy anxiety, only will produce disorder in thine own mind!
For the application in self, the try, the effort, the energy expended in the proper
direction, is all that is required of thee. God giveth the increase.
From Reading 1771-2
(The entity) meets those things which have been called karmic, yet remembering that under
the law of grace this may not be other than an urge, and that making the will of self one
with the Way may prevent, may overcome, may take the choice that makes for life, love,
joy, happiness, rather than the law that makes, causes, the meeting of everything the hard
way.
From Reading 2160-1
For what ye sowed ye will also reap - it is the law! The law will not pass away, save as
each soul fills, fulfills, same in meting to others that it lacked in other activities.
From Reading 1204-2
For know, that each soul constantly meets its own self. No problem may be run away from.
Meet it NOW!
From Reading 2067-2
He alone is each soul pattern. He is thy karma if ye put thy trust wholly in Him!
From Reading 2574-1
He is beauty. He is friendship. He is love. The more and the nearer individuals reflect
that in their conversation, in their dealing with their fellow man, the greater the glory
to Him.
From Reading 2599-1
Thus, the purpose of each experience is that the entity may magnify and glorify that
which is good. For, good is of the one source - God - and is eternal.
From Reading 4047-2
The purpose in life, then, is not the gratifying of appetites, nor of any selfish desires,
but it is that the entity, the soul, may make the earth, where the entity finds its
consciousness, a better place in which to live.
From Reading 1537-1
Know and behold the Lord is One. Thou art His son, a manifestation of His love, of His
patience, in the earth. How art thou using same?
From Reading 1754-1
Let no day pass that ye do not speak a cherry, and an encouraging, word to someone. And ye
will find thine own heart uplifted, thine own life opened, thy love appreciated, thy
purposes understood.
From Reading 499-2
To express love in thine activities, to thy neighbor, is the greatest service that a soul
may give in this mundane sphere.
From Reading 3121-1
As the body may dedicate its life and its abilities to a definite service, to the Creative
Forces, or God, there will be healing forces brought to the body.
From Reading 1533-2
Never repeat that which might be harmful to anyone, even though it be only gossip for the
moment.
Remember the beautiful ever, and look for the agreements, rather than for disagreements.
From Reading 3292-1
Do not condemn self. Condemning of self is as much of an error as condemning others.
From Reading 262-97
Has it made in the experience of the individual a better neighbor, a kindlier friend, a
more long-suffering one with those that would hinder? Doth it bring patience? Doth it
bring love in any manifested form?
From Reading 1336-1
Only in the fruits of the spirit - as of long-suffering and patience and mercy and
brotherly love and kindness and gentleness - may the true meaning of life's experience,
and the purposes of life, and in the associations with others, be understood.
From Reading 403-3
Life in its activity is the expression of the divine influences in a material world. And
individuals may, through drawing wholly, solely, upon the Creative Forces within, change
their own surroundings, their own vibrations within their bodies!
From Reading 272-2
Begin where you are and the way is opened.
From Reading 419-3
The world's as big as ever! There are as many people hungry as ever - as many people need
activities of those who are willing to spend themselves in giving for others that which
will make for a better world in which to live.
From Reading 826-2
Unless those activities among men are the aid for the greater number, rather than for the
class, or the few, they must eventually fail.
From Reading 1599-1
For until ye are willing to lose thyself in service, ye may not, indeed, know that peace
which He has promised to give to all.
From Reading 1175-1
As has been given, know thy Ideal, in what thou hast believed, and then act in that
manner, ministering to others. For perfect love casteth out fear, and fear can only be
from the material things that soon must fade away.
From Reading 3063-1
This the first lesson ye should learn - there is so much good in the worst of us, and so
much bad in the best of us, it doesn't behoove any of us to speak evil of the rest of us.
This is a universal law, and until one begins to make application of same, one may
not go very far in spiritual or soul development.
From Reading 1776-1
See only the pure, the good ! For until ye are able to see within the life and
activities of those ye have come to hate the most, something ye would worship in thy
Creator, ye haven't begun to think straight.
From Reading 2936-2
All that ye may know of good must first be within self. All ye may know of God must
be manifested through thyself. To hear of Him is not to know. To apply, and live, and be
is to know !
From Reading 262-105
In wisdom thou wilt not find fault. In wisdom thou wilt not condemn any. In wisdom thou
wilt not cherish grudges. In wisdom thou wilt love those, even those that despitefully use
thee.
From Reading 2112-2
Speak gently, speak kindly to those who falter. Ye know not their own temptations, nor the
littleness of their understanding. Judge not as to this or that activity of another -
rather pray that the light may shine even in their lives, as it has in thine.
From Reading 2936-2
Ye cannot even think bad of another without it affecting thee in a manner of a destructive
nature. Think well of others, and if ye cannot speak well of them, don't speak, but don't
think it either ! Try to see self in the other's place.
From Reading 1497-5
Know this, and never forget it - It is the spirit with which a thing is said that carries
the force or power.
From Reading 815-2
That one cannot endure within itself, it finds as a fault in others. That thou findest as
a fault in others is thine own greatest fault, ever.
From Reading 2034-1
That ye dwell upon, that ye become - just as that ye hate suddenly befalls thee.
This is natural law.
From Reading 2437-1
It is error to sit still. As we have oft indicated, do something, but never find fault -
and do not condemn self for being this or that. Just do, with thy might, what thy
hands find to do !
From Reading 911-70
Look about self and see the struggle so many souls are making to keep body and soul
together. Hast thou, in any manner, ministered to making their burden lighter? In
lightening the burden of another, thine own is lightened twofold. In lightening the
burdens of another, the whole of will's power is strengthened manyfold.
From Reading 2448-2
Know that what is truly thine cannot be taken away from thee - nor is any character ever
lost.
From Reading 254-83
Let the light of Him - thy Christ - thy God - in, that it may cleanse thy body, that it
may lighten thy soul, that it may purge thy mind - that ye will only be just gentle, just
kind, not finding fault with any - for with faults, ye build barriers to thine own soul's
enlightenment. I, thy God, thy Christ, beseech thee !
6.
THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR MIND AND WHAT WE CHOOSE TO
FEED IT EACH DAY:
From Reading 2550-1
The entity is body, mind and soul. The soul is eternal - it is individual. The mind
is the builder. The body is merely the channel through which there is material
activity.
From Reading 3359-1
Mind becomes the builder. The physical body is the result.
From Reading 2995-3
Thus ye may find, in thy mental and spiritual self, ye can make thyself just as happy, or
just as miserable, as ye like. How miserable do ye want to be?
From Reading 1567-1:
That our mind dwells upon, that our mind feeds upon, that do we supply to our body, yes,
to our soul.
From Reading 3744-4
What one thinks continually, they become. What one cherishes in their heart and mind they
make a part of the pulsation of their heart, through their own blood cells, and build in
their own physical, that with which it will be possessed.
From Reading 2927-1
Let that mind be in thee which was in Him, Who gave " I and the Father, God, are
One". So become ye in thine own mind, as ye contribute, as ye attune thy inner
self to those greater ideals.
From Reading 239-1
Depend more upon the intuitive forces from within, and not harken so much to that of
outside influences, but listen to that still small voice from within.
From Reading 1947-3
What is the purpose of entering consciousness? That each phase of body, mind and soul may
be to the glory of that Creative Force in which it moves and has its being.
From Reading 4021-1
To be sure attitudes oft influence the physical condition of the body. No one can hate his
neighbor and not have stomach or liver trouble. No one can be jealous. and allow the anger
of same, and not have upset digestion or heart disorder.
From Reading 470-37
For anger can destroy the brain as well as any disease. For it is itself a disease of the
mind!
From Reading 3246-2
The constant thinking, the constant thought, of hate, malice, jealousy brings physical
conditions as a result in the physical body, as it does in a state or a nation. It is such
results that produce warring conditions of nations, disputations in state, physical
disturbances in a body.
7. THE IMPORTANCE OF DAILY
PRAYER AND MEDITATION:
From Reading 281-12
He that would know the way must be oft in prayer, joyous prayer, knowing He gives life to
as many as seek in sincerity to be a channel of blessing to someone, for Inasmuch as ye
did a kindness, a holy work to one of these, the least of my little ones, ye have done it
unto Me!"
From Reading 3954-1
For where two or three are gathered together in His name, He is in the midst of them.
From Reading 281-60
Through regular periods of meditation we grow in grace, in knowledge, in understanding.
Our speech, our manner of activity, our life shows forth what we have become. If
you would be a channel of blessing. consecrate your time, dedicate a period to meditation
every day.
From Reading 281-4
As given, the meditations are bringing results to others, to self. Keep that consciousness
that in Him all things are done well. That that is not understood - trust, knowing that
there will come the understanding, as the awakening to the various laws of love that
constitute life in its essence, and development through the physical, material, mental and
spiritual planes.
From Reading 2540-1
When fear of the future occurs, or fear of the past, or fear of what others will say -
put all such away with this prayer- not merely by mouth, not merely by thought, but in
body, in mind, and in soul say "Here am I, lord - Thine. Keep me in the
way Thou would have me go, rather than in that I might choose".
From Reading 254-68
Blessed then are they that make their wills one in accord with Him, as they seek to know
"Love, what would Thou have me do?"
From Reading 922-1
For He hath promised to meet thee in thine own temple, in thine own body, through thine
own mind. And there shall it be told thee, from within, the steps thou shalt take day by
day, step by step.
From Reading 641-6
For, as He has given - if ye would know the Spirit, or God, search for Him, for
happily ye will find Him.
From Reading 4028-1
For all prayer is answered. Don't tell God how to answer it.
From Reading 281-41
What is meditation? It is not musing, not daydreaming, but as ye find your bodies
made up of the physical, mental and spiritual, it is the attuning of the mental body
and the physical body to its spiritual source. It is the attuning of thy physical and
mental attributes seeking to know the relationships to the Maker. That is true meditation.
From Reading 281-13
Meditation then is prayer, but is prayer from within the inner self, and partakes not
only of the physical inner man, but the soul that is aroused by the spirit of man from
within.
Prayer is the concerted effort of the physical consciousness to become attuned to the
consciousness of the Creator, either collectively or individually.
Meditation is emptying self of all that hinders the Creative Forces from rising along
the natural channels of the physical man, to be disseminated through those centers
and sources that create the activities of the physical, the mental, the spiritual man -
properly done, it makes one stronger mentally and physically.
From Reading 440-8
(In meditation) never open self, my friend, without surrounding self with the spirit of
the Christ - that ye may ever be guarded.
From Reading 1861-19
Prayer is supplication for direction, for understanding. Meditation is listening to the
Divine within.
From Reading 2981-1
Why worry when ye may pray? Know that the power of thyself is very limited, The
power of Creative Force is unlimited.
From Reading 1598-2
The prayers of ten may save a city - the prayers of twenty-five may save a
nation, as the prayers and activities of one may, but, in union, there is strength.
From Reading 4008-1
The body mental and spiritual needs spiritual food - prayer, meditation, thinking upon
spiritual things.
