An e-mail bulletin to the friends of Edgar Cayce and the A.R.E. around
the world
________________________________________________
Very dear friends,
Another A.R.E. Congress is over! Held traditionally during the third
week of June, the annual gathering of members and friends of the A.R.E. took place this
year from Sunday, June 15, until Friday, June 20, on the theme of "Being Joyful in
Service".
A harmonious and uplifting atmosphere reigned during the whole event,
among adults and young people.
One of the highlights of Congress was the presence of several
international friends. A group of lively and cheerful Canadians, who have been coming
faithfully for many years, added a delightful flavor to the program. We also welcomed
three visitors from the West Indies, including Sat Sukdeo, A.R.E. Representative in
Trinidad, and his charming wife Patricia. Olive Bell, A.R.E. Representative in Brisbane,
Australia, spent the whole month of June in Virginia Beach. She left yesterday, but we
already miss her. Olive attended several conferences and an Atlantic University intensive
course. She participated in as many activities as she could. It was a great pleasure to
welcome her from the other side of the planet!
In May, Cecilia Megrath, A.R.E. Representative from Bangor, Northern
Ireland, and Santosh Jassal, from England, spent two weeks with us. We still feel their
presence and energy.
It is always inspiring, enriching and energizing to welcome visitors
from other countries
All of you are doing a fantastic job at disseminating the Cayce work in
your area. Thank you for your dedication and wonderful spirit.
Much love,
Alice Bonnefoi

· Report
on the A.R.E. Congress, Virginia Beach (June 15-20, 2003)
The program included several talks and workshops,
staff and Board reports, as well as many other activities (meditation, morning exercises,
service projects, picnic, concert, social event, etc.).
Kevin Todeschi gave a lecture titled "Edgar Cayce and Life
Seals". He introduced the concepts of life seals and aura charts, and conducted a
meditation in which he led the participants to draw their own life seal. This fascinating
material is covered in Kevins latest A.R.E. Press book Soul Signs: Life Seals,
Aura Charts, and the Revelation. The Cayce readings explain that life seals, aura
charts and the symbols contained in the Book of Revelation are tools that anyone can use
for personal spiritual growth. These tools are particularly helpful to find and accomplish
our mission in life, to overcome weaknesses and to enhance soul memory. In Kevins
words:
"A life seal is an artistic depiction of symbols that can
assist us in remembering our talents or present purposes.
An aura chart utilizes symbols to help us come to terms with our
strengths and weaknesses, our highest aspirations, our talents, our abilities, and even
our past-life experiences.
The Book of Revelation, and the symbols therein, portray the
internal struggles that occur within each of us as spiritual development takes
place."
John Van Auken and Rob Grant shared the platform one evening and
commented on various aspects of "Joy in Service" as they appear in the Edgar
Cayce readings. Being joyful in service is a notion that is found repeatedly in the Cayce
material. John and Rob selected a few readings on the subject and discussed the
corresponding quotations, giving their own insight and sharing personal experiences. Their
presentation was enlightening and full of anecdotes. Below are some of the reading
excerpts that they chose for their discussion. These are taken from two readings: 281-50
and 518-2. The 281 series is composed of readings given to the Glad Helpers healing prayer
group. As a reminder, Edgar Cayce was 294, Gladys Davis was 288, and Hugh Lynn Cayce was
341.
This psychic reading was given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic
Crescent, Virginia Beach, on November 6, 1940. In the reading, Edgar Cayce gave personal
messages for members of the group. Most of those individuals were encouraged "to keep
joyous in service."
(Q) [993]:
(A) Let love and peace be magnified in thee more and more. Let that
purpose as was in Him be thy guide, as ye seek to bring the awareness of God - in Christ -
to the children of men. Be kind, be patient, be diligent - in the Lord.
(Q) [307]:
(A) Let thy light so shine unto others that they may see the way. In
thy communications let thy yeas be yea, thy nays be nay. Let all be done in order, in
harmony. Keep JOYOUS in a service to thy fellow man; for as ye do it unto the least of His
children, thy brethren, ye do it unto thy Master, Jesus.
(Q) [379]:
(A) Let that light thou hast seen, thou hast glimpsed in well doing, be
kept lighted in thine own heart and mind. Let the ways that have come, do come to thee, be
made straight in the Lord. Keep the heart singing. Be JOYFUL in service. Be happy in well
doing.
(Q) [404]:
(A) Let thy love, thy patience, thy fortitude, be kept without murmur.
Let thy light shine in the lives and experiences of those ye meet day by day; that ye may
bring hope, and love, into the life of each. Be not weary of trial. Be not weary in
discouraging moments. But look up, lift up thy voice, thy eyes, unto the hill of God. For
in Him is strength. And He loveth not that as may even have the appearance of evil. Keep
joyous in thy service.
(Q) [263]:
(A) Let thy love, thy mercy, thy patience, cover much of that as may
appear as faults in others. Muse and meditate oft upon what must have been the
disappointments in man that have come up to the throne of mercy. Show mercy, show love,
even as ye would have such shown to thee. For in that purpose ye sow thy thoughts, thy
deeds, they come back to thee to roost. Remember thy Creator. Remember thy savior, Jesus,
even the Christ. Let love be without rancor. Let patience be without grudging. Let hope
and faith be thy longing.
(Q) [1222]:
(A) Let that love as ye desire from and in those about thee be
manifested in thy dealings, thy conversation with others; that harmony and peace may come
in measures to fill thy whole purpose, thy all, in Him. Let the light of happiness, the
joy of service, the desire for love, be the ruling forces in thy activities, thy
conversations, thy meditations. The Lord loveth those who approach Him boldly, asking,
seeking; but live that they ask for, they seek for.
(Q) [1523]:
(A) Let thy hope, thy joy, be FULL in Him and in His promises to abide
with thee always. In the manner, in the purpose thou treatest thy neighbor, thy fellow
man, so in thine own experience will come the ability to appreciate the nearness of the
Father-God to thee. Let that which is done in secret be proclaimed in thy prayer to the
Father. Let love and light, and hope and joy, bring the smile of contentment, the hope of
thy longings, in Him.
(Q) [288]:
(A) Let thy purposes in thy dealings with others be kept in attune, in
accord, with that new commandment He gave unto those about Him, "Love one
another." And as thy activities bring those trials, those doubts, those fears, place
them upon the altar of service; and the joy of the Lord will fill thee with peace,
contentment, that comes to those who put their trust in Him. Be not afraid. God is not
mocked; whatsoever one soweth, that - too - shall one reap. Condemn not, that ye be not
condemned. Rather let thy life, in thy conversation - in thy invocation - keep thee closer
to Him.
(Q) [294]:
(A) Let that purpose, that desire to make of self naught in order that
He, thy Lord, thy Master may be magnified in the lives and the experiences of others, be
the force that guides thee in thy choice of activities among thy fellow men. Let fear and
doubt and disappointments be put away, as though they did not exist. For in leaning upon
Him the burden becomes light, the way becomes a joyous way. For He will walk and talk with
thee.
(Q) Gladis Hardin:
(A) Let those things, those experiences that have been in the way, be
put far from thee in thy search for Him. Let the joy of service, for His names sake,
be as a guiding light to these things ye do and say day by day. Let that purpose as was in
Him be thy purpose, thy aim, thy desire. Keep listening, listening, for those promises
that are thine. And as to how, where ye may find them, - it is in the little kindnesses,
the longsuffering, the gentleness that ye may show even under stress, even under hardship.
For His ways are not past finding out. But seek and ye shall find, knock and it will be
opened unto thee.
(Q) [341]:
(A) Let the hope of the Lord ever be in that way that ye may induce, ye
may compel others to take thought of the promises of God. Not for self, not for mere
cause, but for a purpose - in Him, in the Christ; who maketh known to those who seek, who
seek His will with them. Be not afraid. Be not a doubting. Be HAPPY, be joyous in the
Lord.
(Q) [585]:
(A) Let thy heart, thy mind, be glad in the Lord. Let His ways be thy
ways, that the joy of service in the Lord may be made more and more manifest in thy life
day by day. Let the light of hope, of love, fill thy heart. For, He is mindful of those
who DO such in the name of the Lord.
(Q) [413]:
(A) Let thy heart be glad, for a purpose, for a cause. Let thy mind and
heart be opened to the praises He would bring to thee. For He is mindful of those things,
those experiences, that would bring doubt and fear into thy awareness. Know that He will
not allow thee to be tempted beyond that ye are able to bear. If ye put that cross upon
Him, He will bear thee up, making thee STRONG in those purposes that are at one with Him.
This psychic reading was given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic
Crescent, Virginia Beach, on August 13, 1935, for a 25 year-old woman.
First, the entering of EVERY soul is that it, the soul, may become
more and more aware or conscious of the divine within, that the soul-body may be purged
that it may be a fit companion for the GLORY of the Creative Forces in its activity.
The activity for this entity, then, is the same; that it may have the
opportunity. For it has been given that the LORD hath not willed that any soul should
perish. But with every temptation He hath prepared a way; so that if he or she as the
erring one will turn to Him for that aid, it may find same.
Then again, in the appearances, do not look or seek for the phenomenon
of the experience without the purpose, the aim. USE same as a criterion, as what to do and
what not to do. Not that it, the simple experience, has made or set ANYTHING permanent!
For there is the constant change evidenced before us; until the soul has been washed clean
through that the soul in its body, in its temple, has EXPERIENCED by the manner in which
it has acted, has spoken, has thought, has desired in its relationships to its fellow man!
Not in selfishness, not in grudge, not in wrath; not in ANY of those
things that make for the separation of the I AM from the Creative Forces, or Energy, or
God. But the simpleness, the gentleness, the humbleness, the faithfulness, the
longsuffering, PATIENCE! These be the attributes and those things which the soul takes
cognizance of in its walks and activities before men. Not to be SEEN of men, but that the
love may be manifested as the Father has shown through the Son and in the earth day by
day. Thus He keeps the bounty, thus He keeps the conditions such that the individual soul
may - if it will but meet or look within - find indeed HIS Presence abiding ever.
The soul, the individual that purposely, intentionally, turns the back
upon these things, choosing the satisfying of the own self's desire, then has turned the
back upon the living God.
Not that there is not to be joy, pleasure, and those things that maketh
not afraid in the experience of every soul. But the joy in service, the joy in labor for
the fellow man, the joy in giving of self that those through thy feeble efforts may have
put before them, may become aware in their consciousness, that THOU hast been with, that
THOU hast taken into thine own bosom the law of the Lord; and that ye walk daily with Him.
What, ye say then, was the purpose for which ye entered in at this
particular experience? That ye might know the Lord and HIS goodness the more in thine
inner self, that ye through this knowledge might become as a messenger in thy service and
thy activity before thy fellow man; as one pointing the way, as one bringing - through the
feeble efforts and endeavors, through the faltering steps at times, yet TRYING, attempting
to do - what the conscience in the Lord hath prompted and does PROMPT thee to do.
· Report
on the fourteenth annual conference of the Edgar Cayce Foundation in Southern Sweden (June
14-15, 2003)
The Cayce group in Southern Sweden is a very dynamic
one. They organize their annual conference in Tyringe, a small village one hour north of
Malmö. The theme of the conference this year was "Being Healthy in the 21st
Century". The main speakers were Boris Aranovich, Quantum Medicine specialist, and
Anne Pedersen, director of the Danish Edgar Cayce Society.
Gösta Montelius, chairman of the Edgar Cayce Foundation in Southern
Sweden reports:
"This years Tyringe conference was done in an extraordinary
atmosphere of coherence and gratitude. We had the opportunity to meet one another and
discuss things of mutual interest. The lecturers helped us in this respect.
Anne Pedersen told us about the Cayce diet. She explained how to cure
specific diseases using a correct diet. She also gave a long talk on reincarnation, karma
and relationships, as seen from the Cayce readings, and how to get healed in our own
selves. This gave a lot of food for thought and action!
Iwona Aranovich told us about mandalas, and how they can be used to
help pregnant women, children and therapists. These groups of people are particularly
vulnerable and need protection.
Her husband, Boris Aranovich, told us about his 3 times 5
programme, to take care of our own health. He has a lot of ways to do this, see www.mdrcenter.nu.
There were around 50 persons attending. The event took place in a
completely remodeled resort hotel, with the new owners giving us all the support we
needed."

Finally, one of the most exciting things discussed at Congress has to
do with the 75th anniversary of the Edgar Cayce hospital. In commemoration of
the anniversary, which officially occurs on November 11, the A.R.E. has announced plans to
renovate and expand Edgar Cayces hospital building - current A.R.E. Headquarters. In
brief, the expansion will cost over 1,8 million dollars and include three major
components:
1) Edgar Cayce Hospital/A.R.E. Headquarters Renovations:
The hospital renovation will include the replacement of all
windows, outer doors, plumbing and electrical work. The building will also become handicap
accessible with the installation of an elevator. In addition to the renovation of all
bathrooms and the installation of new carpeting, the exterior of the building will be
covered with long-lasting, no-maintenance siding. A new parking lot will also be installed
behind the building.
2) Cayce-Reilly School of Massotherapy Expansion:
A three-story expansion of the hospital building to the west will
triple the space available to the Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy from 1,700 to 5,800
square feet. In addition to being a popular program in terms of vocational training and
personal transformation, the school has been instrumental in disseminating the Cayce
information on health, healing and holism throughout the world. All areas of the expansion
(bathrooms, classrooms, and work areas) will be handicap accessible.
3) Health & Rejuvenation Center (HRC)/Therapy Department
Expansion and Renovation:
The old Therapy Department will be relocated to the first floor of
the expanded building, increasing the space allocation from 2,600 square feet to 3,600
square feet. All therapy rooms will be new and state-of-the-art. In addition to more
treatment rooms and mens and womens shower rooms, office space will increase
for consultations and assessments provided by the Health and Rejuvenation Center nurse.

· From the
Edgar Cayce readings
"More individuals become so anxious about their own troubles,
and yet helping others is the best way to rid yourself of your own troubles. For what is
the pattern? He gave up Heaven and entered physical being that ye might have access to the
Father."
[5081-1]
"Know that it is not all just to live not all just to be
good, but good for something; that ye may fulfill that purpose for which ye have entered
this experience."
[2030-1]
"For all that ye may ever keep is just what you give away, and
that you give away is advice, counsel, manner of life you live yourself. The manner in
which you treat your fellow man, your patience, your brotherly love, your kindness, your
gentleness. That you give away, that is all that ye may possess in those other realms of
consciousness."
[5259-1]
"Try to see self in the others place. And this will bring
the basic spiritual forces that must be the prompting influence in the experience of each
soul, if it would grow in grace, in knowledge, in understanding; not only of its
relationship to God, its relationship to its fellow man, but its relationship in the home
and in the social life."
